The 5th scholarship and bursary youth pioneering in community award ceremony was hold on Saturday, July 22nd 2017 in Toronto. The ceremony has been organized by Burma Canadian Association of Ontario. This year, five recipients received the awards. The awards are given to outstanding Burmese Canadian students from different secondary schools around Ontario. According to U Win Maung, the president of B.C.A.O, the scholarship program is just to encourage the outstanding Burmese Canadian generations to raise their spirit of improvement. (07- 15- 2017)

Fund Raising Musical Concert to be Held ျမန္မာကေနဒီယံအသင္း ရံပုံေငြ သီခ်င္းသီဆုိေဖ်ာ္ေျဖပြဲ။
Burma Canadian association of Ontario will hold a fund raising concert on July 15, 2017 at Korean Culture Center, Toronto. Two famous Burmese celebrities, R Zani and Sung Tin Par are going to perform the event. Tickets at $ 70, $ 60, $ 40 are on sale. Half of the fund will go for obtaining clean water in villages and rural areas in Burma.

Venerable Sayadaw Ashin U Kawwida Received Asian Heritage Award ဆရာေတာ္ အရွင္ဦးေကာဝိဒ Asian Heritage Award ဆုရရွိ
Ashin U Kawwida from Mahadammika Myanmar Buddhist Temple, Toronto received Asian Heritage Month Award for 2017. The award is conferred to Ontario residents in Asian background and devotees for social and cultural activities by the Canadian Multicultural Council Asians in Ontario. Ashin U Kawwida has been nominated for CMC Asian Heritage Award 2017 by Burma Canadian association of Ontario. Sayadaw is one of the thirteen nominees received the year 2017 award.
